Black Youth Awards Winner

Anjolaoluwa Adeye

Award Won: Academic Excellence Award

Despite relocating from Nigeria to the UK in September 2022, AJ excelled in her GCSEs in August 2023, achieving an outstanding grade score average of 8.43, placing her in the top five at Bede Sixth Form College in Billingham. What is truly remarkable about her grades is that AJ had never studied English literature before and achieved a grade 8.

She is studying A levels in biology, chemistry and psychology. Selected for the college’s High Achievers’ Programme, she aspires to study medicine specialising in dermatology. In her spare time, she volunteers at a charity shop in Stockton.

“A friendly and personable student, AJ is a true asset to Bede Sixth Form College,” said Vaina.

“We anticipate her continued success and are excited to see her surpass her current goals.”
