Black Youth Awards Winner

Bolu Ogunnaike

Award Won: Choices Award

In 2021, Bolu’s life took a positive turn when he embraced football for fitness and self-improvement. Despite initial weight challenges, he worked hard shedding pounds and gaining muscle.

Originally from Nigeria, Bolu’s positive influence extends beyond personal achievement. Joining Walker Riverside Academy in Year 9 just over two years ago, he stood out as a role model, displaying exemplary behaviour. His impact on his peers and the school community led to his inclusion in the Student Council, where his proposals have been implemented.

“Bolu’s story is one of choices, resilience and positive influence,” said Vaina.
