Black Youth Awards Winner

George Marques Grant

Award Won: Young Sports Person Award

In one remarkable season, George transitioned from grassroots football to playing for Middlesbrough U18s and representing the Jamaican National Team U20s. Joining the academy in July 2022 with limited playing opportunities, he has become a standout player facing top tier teams including Liverpool and Manchester United. Not only is he excelling on the field, but he has also achieved Level 2 functional skills in maths and English and is thriving in his Level 3 BTEC sports programme.

“George’s exemplary attitude, application and support for his peers make him a deserving recipient of this award,” said Vaina.
